RISHIKESH "Aththi Deva Bhava"

Rishikesh - Gateway to the Himalayas

Devotedly, with pure heart, who soever comes to Rishikesh, the brahmteertha,(The Supereme pilgrimage) and stays one night, becomes Godly.

THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IN RISHIKSH

It is said when Raibhya Rishi did hard penances, God appeared by the name of "Hrishikesh" and this area was henceforth called by the name.

Rishikesh, situated on the right bank of Ganga and surrounded on three sides by Himalayan ranges, known from medieval time as celestial abode, is a great pilgrimage center of India, attracting a large number of pilgrims. This gateway to the Abode of Gods and pilgrimage to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri is clustered with Ashrams, finest Hotels, Tourist rest Houses and Dharamsalas.

The yoga centers of Rishikesh have enhanced the significance of the place, home and foreign tourists from all over the world visit this place to have lessons in yoga and meditation.

Enlighten Next Rishikesh
Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas on the banks of the Ganges River is the sacred Indian town of Rishikesh. It was here nearly twenty years ago that Andrew Cohen first began to share with others the realization that was awakening in him, and today it is home to the Enlighten Next Rishikesh Centre.

The Rishikesh Centre has recently moved from its location near the Swiss Bandhari Cottages in Tapovan, to a quiet area near the Green Hills Cottage. Presently, we occupy a room where visitors are welcome to come and meditate

Rishikesh, the Mecca for peace seeker through Yoga & meditation, is located at a height of about 1360 feet above sea level. It is believed that several yogis and sages lived and practiced penance here. Rishikesh represents the site where Vishnu vanquished the demon Madhu.

Rishikesh is one the holy cities of India, the yoga capital of the world, a totally vegetarian town. Rishikesh is a good starting point for trekking to Himalayan pilgrimage centers such as Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamnotri in India.

Rishikesh is considered to be sacred as it is believed that meditation at this place leads to attainment of salvation. There are many temples, some of them are ancient or new along the river Ganges. Rishikesh is important not only as pilgrimage centre closely associated with the Ramayana, but also as home for many important centers of Hindu religious thought and spirituality, and Great Yoga Centers.
